I wanted to share my dinner from last weekend with you. We had a Bavarian specialty that is called `Leberkäse` it literally translates to liver cheese but it doesn`t contain neither of those. It is made of corned beef, pork, bacon and onions which are grinded very finely and then baked as a loaf in a bread pan until it has a crunchy brown crust. You can purchase it finished at the supermarket and just fry it at home. Sometimes it is topped with a sunny side up egg but we just added some sauteed onions.
On the side we had homemade mashed potato. I would always make it at home because it tastes so much better than this generic instant stuff that I refuse to eat. Of course we also had some veggies. We simply cooked some peas and carrots and added a few butter flakes. It was so delicious! Definitely one of my favourites for dinner.
Have you ever tried Leberkäse? If not, would you like to try it?
What did you have for dinner today?
