DOTD - Fettuccine amp Italian Sausage in Red Wine Tomato Sauce

I made this dish because I had been craving pasta for days. I chose fettuccine noodles and added Italian sausage.

I cooked the sausage for about 30 minutes on medium heat. At the same time I put the water to boil for the pasta. The tomato sauce was made with canned tomatoes, garlic, seasonings and red wine.

When the sausage was done I sliced it into approx. 2 inch slices. The pasta was drained after about 8 minutes and then put back onto the stove with the sauce to cook a little longer. I added the sausage with it`s pan drippings into the pot and simmered for about 5-8 minutes. This pasta calls for longer cooking time so it was still slightly al dente.
I served it with some grated aged white cheddar cheese. This was a quick and simple dish and tasted amazing...
