Today at school, we had a teach in about service dogs. But they also talked about a type of service dogs can provide for people that don`t necessarily have a mental condition like cerbal palsy or epilepse. They are therapy dogs, and I think they are great to have. Therapy dogs are provided to people with PTSD (post tramatic stress disorder) or any severe stress or anxiety disorders. Therapy dogs, like service dogs, go everywhere the person they assist go. They`re provided for comfort andto calm you down. They do go through training, so if you have an anxiety attack they would either stop it, or get help and calm you down until it arrives. They cost a little less than sercive dogs, but therapy dogs have the same rights as service dogs. Almost any dog can be trained to be one. The dog in the photo is my basset hound Sadie. She isn`t a registered therapy dog, but she`s just so cute and loving so I thougt she would be a good photo for this article. If anyone needs a service or therapy dog, I`ll post a link of who to talk to for more info, as I am not a professional.
