There is a debate whether artificial sweeteners help with calorie reduction or not. The research says that diet foods containing the artificial sugar can actually make you want to eat more and it can also cause metabolic syndrome. I used to take Splenda and I like my beverages sweet, so in one cup I would put 4-5 packets. I used to think, yeah I am making it too sweet but at least its healthier but then I read somewhere that it is carcinogenic (cancer producing) and with extra processing that it goes through, it is harmful for our body. I stopped the artificial sugars, now if I can just slow down the amount of sugar I put in my coffee...
