I have just moved house and wanted Pictures and Canvas up but hadn`t really seen any that I liked, so I went to my local country baskets store (its a giant arts and crafts warehouse fulled with everything you could ever want or need from wedding decoratins to flower arrangements funeral and garden orniments you name it this place has it).
I went there and got a few blank canvas and some fresh paints brushes and paint pallet I bought other things from there but that is another post all in its self.
In our living room the furniture is modern and dark like black floating shelfs black TV stand black Coffee table and black square leather sofas (they are super comfy) big flat screen TV which again is black but the walls are very pale, but at the minute very bare, I decided to paint the canvas black all over even down and around the frame so when its on the wall you won`t be able to tell that it has being painted.
I then drew out the sketch I wanted on to the dry black canvas, I did change my mind a few times while doing this and had to re paint one black because once I put the colour on I didnt like it.
Its all about trial and error!
After I drew what I wanted, I settled for a woman in a long dress and did one a front view and one a back view and painted it red, this will add abit of colour to my walls, obvs you can choose whatever colour or pattern you like it`s all about what goes nice in your house room or wherever you be putting it.
What you will need to do this
-paint pallet or even an plate
Ps put something underneath the surface you are working on cause this can get messy if you have some old clothes it would be better to wear them aswell.
Have a good time trying this out its fun and with it being the holidays it will kill abit of time and keep the kids quiet
