Do you have white sugar, lemon (lime), water at home? Do you have time and want to save money? Are you eco-friendly or do-it-yourself kinda gal? If you said yes to any of these questions, then you can make your own wax. Yes you....no more chemicals wax, or going to strangers to have embarrassing scene...
Okay enough of my infomercials and lets get on with the project. Sugaring is pretty similar to waxing but it may not pick up tiny or thin hair easily. The good thing is, the ingredients are in your cabinets and it is made in one simple step. Take a pan and add 2 cups of white sugar, 1/4 cup of water, 1/4 cup of lemon or lime. After boiling it for about 2 minutes it will start bubbling furiously. Keep stirring till it becomes honey color. Knowing the exact texture takes practice. What I do is when I feel that I have good consistency I switch off the gas and allow it to cool...Even though it is runny while it is hot, it hardens when cooled. After it is cool to touch, you can test it and if you like the consistency you can remove it to a container or keep heating for better batter :)
I will write another post on how to use the wax so please read that one if you need to learn at home waxing tips :)
There is another cool way that you can use this same product but use it without the strip....to read about it please read my
Hope this was a helpful post and oh yea before I forget, if you are diabetic then please use your judgement before trying this.
