Ombre has been in trend for a while now and I thought with spring colors you can get a spring / summer ombre nail art without using the nail stickers! I will be posting an easy way to do it after this one but if you like a challenge this one is for you! Try it out! :)
What you will need: Two color polishes and a topcoat. You can choose colors that compliment or go with colors that will clash! To make it fun add some glitter! Do experiment and see whatever works well and looks different! You will also need a sponge, a plastic sheet and toothpicks. You can get the sponges anywhere I got mine at the dollar store.
First step: Paint your nail with the lightest of the two colors, you don`t want to apply top coat just yet but feel free to use a base coat to protect your nails!
Step 2: On a flat surface, paint a generous amount of the colors right next to each other on to the plastic. Make sure they`re just about touching at the edges.
Step 3: Take a toothpick, swirl the two colors together in where they meet. The area where they mix will determine the length of the graduation. So if you want a long graduation, mix a bigger section of the colors, if you want less of a fade, just mix them together a tiny bit.
Step 4: Take your sponge and place it on the nail polish thats on the flat surface, you might have to do this a couple of times.
Step 5: Dabb the sponge directly on your nail, you might end up with some acess around your nail but you can clean it up when it drys to make it look neat and polished. (you can repeat as many times you want / need just make sure the layer you put on is dry! )
Step 6: Your sponge may make the polish bumpy so wait till it drys and add a couple layers of top coat!
Repeat these steps to each nail!
This is easy once you get the hang of it, I will be uploading a post that is similar to the ombre effect nails it just takes less time! hope you enjoyed! :)
