DIY: Monochrome Painted Glass Bottles

I was feeling a little crafty this week and decided to try out a DIY project I found online! This project was super easy, so I wanted to share it with you guys. Ill show you how to turn boring, glass bottles to lovely, coloured accessories to add to your decor. All youll need is some clear glass bottles, some paint and youre ready to go!

When choosing your paint, use either acrylic or latexthis will adhere best to the glass. I went with a purple monochrome theme, using paint left over from when my room was painted a little while back. For bottles, I used some Sleeman beer bottles. You can use any shaped bottles though, mixing a variety of different kinds of bottles would look great too! Make sure the bottles are cleaned out well and completely dry before you start. I set up my workspace outside so I could enjoy the nice weather. This is also a good idea if youre using acrylic or latex paint because of the fumes and strong smell.

Now all you do is pour a dollop of paint into each bottle. Tilt your bottle downwards and slowly rotate it until the paint has completely covered the inside. How much paint youll need will depend on the size and shape of your bottle. Just eyeball itif you feel you need more, pour more in. If youve put in too much, you can just pour out the excess.

I suggest you let your bottles dry for a complete 24 hours and then you can add them to your decor! I have them simply placed on a dresser in my room, but you can also use them as vases by putting some dried flowers or sticks in them for a earthy look.
