DIY king size headboard

I wanted a headboard for my king size bed but couldn`t find one exactly as I wanted. So, I had three book shelves and a pile 2 x 4`s and an idea. I took the boards and made a base to hold the shelves and cut the shelves in half and fastened them down to the base. I then took the boards and made spacers to close the gap between shelves. I then bought some paint that was on clearance for five dollars, went to hobby lobby and bought the design boards and clued them on they cost two dollars each, the trim I got from home depot for a dollar, seventy-three a foot, I didn`t much. Put it all together and above is the before and after pictures. I am so proud of myself. this headboard cost less then twenty dollars to build. Best part is I have no woodworking skills. I love it.
