DIY: Face Mask amp Toner for All Skin Types

Today, I want share with everyone how I clean my face. I`m not really a huge fan of face cleansers/masks in stores because:
Not all of them work for me, my skin is really sensitive and I get breakouts like crazy!

I believe that natural face masks made from natural ingredients are way better than cleansers/face masks you buy at the store

The 2 key ingredients I use in my face mask are: oats and gram flour (aka chickpea flour).

Oats is an amazing natural beauty enhancer. It helps reduce acne, soothe and heal your face, while reducing inflammations. Inflammations are what causes premature skin aging. Also, a great thing about oats is that they are also great exfoliators for the skin. So your face mask can not only be a mask, but also become an exfoliator afterwards.
Gram flour, also known as chickpea flour, absorbs oil and is often used to deep cleanse skin and can also be used as an exfoliator.

Fun fact: In some Asian countries, like India and Bangladesh, gram flour mixed with tumeric powder and a bit of water (to make a pasty texture), are used on brides the night before their wedding to achieve that glowing skin on their wedding day.

Now let`s skip to the ingredients and directions on how to make/use the face mask:

1 1/2 tbsp of gram flour/chickpea flour
1 tbsp of oats (I usually grind the oats to make it a bit powdery)
1/2 tbsp of honey
2 tsp of yogurt
4 tsp of milk (or water)

Combine all ingredients to make a pasty texture. Not runny texture but pasty texture! You can use more milk or yogurt to make the face mask pasty. Wash your face and evenly apply the face mask all over your face. If there`s leftover, you can apply them on your neck. Wait for the face mask to dry. Once dried, use luke warm water and wash your face in circular motion with your fingers or a washcloth. You are not only cleansing your face but you are also exfoliating your skin with the oats and the gram flour by washing in circular motion. After you washed your face, gently pat dry with a towel. Then use a toner.

For toner, I normally take mint leaves and submerge them into hot water, then strain the mixture and use the water as a toner. You can do this before washing your face. So while you are waiting for your face mask to dry, you can also take another bowl full of mint leaves and submerge them into hot water. This homemade toner can be stored in the fridge for about 1 week.

After using toner, moisturize your face with your normal moisturizer. I use Aveeno skin moisturizing cream. It`s important to moisturize your face after cleansing. Moisturizing your face keeps the oil levels in your skin regulated and keeps your skin hydrated. So moisturize!!!!

And voilà, there you have it!!! I hope you use this face cleansing routine and tell me how it goes!! :)
