Diy:: chalkboard glasses

oh hey, two in one night! i`m done w/ my homework and not quite ready to go to bed yet :)
i read about this somewhere a couple months ago and think it`s so cute! i might do this for christmas gifts :)

-chalkboard paint (found at home improvement/craft stores, sold in liquid or spray form)
-blue tape (i think it`s painter`s tape!)
-variety of glasses (short, tall, stemmed, mugs, etc)
-if using liquid paint, sponge brush
-white/colored chalk
optional!-ribbons, gift bags, tissue paper

O1. make sure the glasses are clean and free of any dust or hair.

O2. mark out the area you`ll want to put the chalkboard paint with the blue tape. if you`re doing non-stemmed glasses, make the paint in about the middle, not too close to the lip of the glass but not at the bottom.
if you`re doing stemmed glasses, consider painting the base and a little of the stem.

O3. paint away! do a couple coats to make sure the paint is opaque.

O4. let the paint dry. 24 hours is long enough.

O5. wash before using or giving away.

O6. if you are giving these as gifts, consider wrapping some chalk to the glass with a piece of ribbon! make sure to wrap the ribbon around the glass a couple times before adding the chalk, so there`s a layer between the paint and chalk.

that`s it!
