DIY Backdrop for book case

The other day at Big Lots I also purchased a three shelf book case. It was originally $25, but was on sale for $15. Since I needed one anyway I decided to just buy this one. Putting it together took longer than I expected and I got blisters =(

Anyway to make it even cuter, I decided to add cabinet liner on the back. I saw this idea from Pinterest, but they used wallpaper. At first I was going to paint it and do vertical stripes, but I didn`t want to go through the long process of taping the lines, painting, and then waiting for it to dry before putting it altogether, finally. So because I had left over cabinet liners that I bought in a cute vintage print, I decided just to use that. It`s very easy, just peel and stick!

After sticking my liner onto the back, I nailed it to my shelf and it looks so much better and not boring. I was also going to add legs to my book case to make it look taller and more elegant, but they are so expensive. I went to Home Depot and they were about $8 for one leg. If I bought four, that would have been way more expensive than what I bought my book case for! Oh we`ll, maybe next time.
