The Grand Floridian is one of the Ritziest hotels on Disney World property and depending on the season you go it is also the most expensive. When I was a cast member of the Disney Company last year we were invited to go on a tour of their brand new Disney Vacation Club Villas. They hadn`t even opened yet so we got the first sneak peak!
I`m going to explain this post through the pictures so follow along:
Picture 1: This is in the lobby of the Grand villa, yes it is a fountain. It was gorgeous!
Picture 2: The stunning chandelier hanging in the lobby
Picture 3: This is what you see upon entering the rooms at the villa`s. It is a full living room complete with Sofa, chairs, side tables and of course a television.
Picture 4: This is one of the bedrooms. We got to tour a two bedroom room.
Picture 5: The bathtub in one of the bathrooms. I think it`s gorgeous!
Picture 7: The bathroom counter, note the screen on the mirror!
Picture 8: This little monitor is the coolest thing, and a cast member explained to us that disney actually holds the patent for it. Now you might be surprised to hear it is a full computer. You can search for basically anything on this mirror, or you can flick it to the TV and watch the news while you`re getting ready in the morning. I know some moms who love that for their not so morning children.
Picture 6: As always when you wander anywhere through Disney property you`ll find nods towards past works, in the Grand Floridian you can always find a smile towards Mary Poppins!
Picture 9: All of the Villa`s include a state of the art modern kitchen! I think this was my favorite part of the villa, but I`d rather have this in my house and not my hotel room.
Picture 10: This is the second bedroom. The color coordination is so lovely! Note the vanity in the corner, and of course the Mickey Head.
Picture 11: Maybe not necessary for everyone, but this room also has a formal dining room. There is also a balcony on the outside of that window.
Picture 12: This is the outside of the building. There are dozens of rooms and of course the ones with the highest premium have a view of Cinderellas Castle and at night they get to see Wishes, the Magic Kingdom fireworks show right out there window.
My review of this villa is that it is nice, but for perks and amenities like these it`s going to cost you.
The Average price of a night at the Grand Floridian Villa is as low as $493 a night. Rooms like the one we toured sleep up to 9 people, though i`m sure you could fit more, so that makes the price look a little better.
All in All, the Grand isn`t my favorite hotel but it definitely has what Disney Strives for a clean safe environment.
Oh A little inside cast member tidbit. Since I worked at the Poly right next-door I can tell you that, all the furniture was finished being put in place only the night before, and it was a race to the finish.
What do you think of this mammoth resort?
The photo`s above were all taken by me please do not take them.
