Pasta is so easy to cook and ready in a matter of minutes! For this recipe I cooked the spaghetti al dente, according to the package. (always flavor the water with salt and add a little oil to prevent from sticking)
For this recipe you will need:
-your choice of pasta
-your favorite brand marinara sauce
- 1/2 lb of lean ground beef or ground turkey
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
-2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
-1 Bay leaf
- parsley ( save some on the side for garnish)
- Parmesan cheese ( or your favorite cheese)
-salt and pepper
I bought Prego brand marinara sauce. In a separate pan I sauteed some finely chopped onion followed by the meat of choice. Once meat is semi cooked add in the garlic ( make sure garlic does not burn! or else it will taste bitter). Saute for a couple of minutes, then add the marinara sauce ( you can eyeball how much sauce you need compared to how much pasta you have cooked). Add parsley, Bay leaf and salt and pepper to taste. Let this simmer on the stove.
Drain pasta, serve it on a plate and add meat sauce. Garnish with parsley and cheese. Voila! Dinner is served.
