This is what I whipped up for dinner tonight. I had left over ham so I made sure I used some of it so it wouldn`t go to waste. I have to say, though, we didn`t care for this dish. I got the idea from the Sorted Food website. I wish I liked it more. It wasn`t that it was absolutely horrible, but we weren`t left feeling like we just had something amazingly delicious.
I started by chopping up some onion and red potatoes. They went into a pan with olive oil. I seasoned them with salt, pepper, thyme, and parsley. That cooked down on a medium heat for quite some time. I didn`t really go by a set amount of minutes, rather, just watched for the onions to become soft. Once they were, I added some heavy cream, a bit of water, the cubed up ham, and some camembert cheese. That was then put into a small baking dish. I topped it with a bit of garlic seasoned bread crumbs. That, then, went into a 350 degree oven for about 20-25 minutes.
I think the problem was mostly the sauce formed from the heavy cream and cheese. Again, it wasn`t that it was disgusting. I think it lacked something more than anything else. Maybe if I seasoned the heavy cream with something it would have been a bit better.
