This is what I made for dinner about two weeks ago in my handy dandy crock pot! Nothings better than throwing raw ingredients into a pan, going to work and coming home to a delicious meal awaiting to be eaten. We could have eaten this when I got home, but I added in a half a can of tomato paste to thicken it up and then boiled up some pasta and we were good to go!
To make my cacciatore I add the following into a crock pot:
- Raw cleaned chicken
- Sliced onion
- Sliced green pepper
- 2 cans diced tomatoes
- large can tomato sauce
- minced garlic
- Spices: Black Pepper, Salt, Garlic Powder, Italian seasoning, Hot pepper flakes
I let it cook all day on low and lastly I added in the half a small can of tomato paste to thicken it up. It turned out REALLY good. It was dinner/lunch for a few days and I really want to say the next day it was even better than the first because the sauce got to "marinate" in the fridge over night. Sooo good!
The sauce was the perfect consistency and was good to dip bread in.
Do you make chicken cacciatore at home?
Do you use a crock pot to help make meals easier?
