Dinner: Chicken Katsu!

Here`s my dinner from a few nights ago. My studies have been kicking m butt lately so I forgot about these pictures. Well if you didn`t know, I`ve been working my way to become a pescetarian, which has been going great. The other night, I had a huge craving for something fried. Looking in my fridge, I didn`t have much that I could fry so I googled and I came across tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet). Since I don`t eat pork anymore, I figured chicken would be just as good. AND IT WAS! LOL

Anyways, I made my chicken katsu dipped in seasoned flour, then egg, then panko break crumbs (japanese style). I pan fried it (not deep fried) to try and make it SLIGHTLY healthier. lol I know, fried is still fried....but at least it`s not swimming in oil for 5 minutes. It was super good and crispy.

I served it over a bed of rice and some unagi sauce (I didn`t have any tonkatsu sauce on hand). On the side I had half an avocado and cauliflower mixed vegetables with a tomato sauce.

Prior to my `main course` I had made a simple salad with iceberg lettuce, bell peppers, onions and a few slices of bread and butter pickles. LOL Super weird combination, but it tasted good! I wanted to keep up with the `Japanese` theme so I made a sesame-soy sauce dressing to go with it.

It was a great meal and satisfied my fried craving. lol What do you plan on eating for dinner tonight?
