Last night, I ate with my boyfriend`s parents as I was uptown.
We went to the usual Thai-Vietnamese restaurant that we usually go to and I decided to try their pho there. I usually order the basil chicken or lemongrass chicken when I go.
I wanted to eat beef tripe only noodles but they did not have that in the menu. You had to order brisket with it. So what my boyfriend and I did was, we both ordered brisket and tripe pho, his was an extra-large with raw brisket, and mine was a small well-done brisket and tripe pho. I gave him all the brisket from mine and he gave me all the tripe from his.
So we have an impromptu tripe pho =D
This restaurant tends to serve large portion sizes and they put a lot of oil in the food. The soup base in my pho had a good portion of oil and it was very salty comparative to what I usually get from the Vietnamese place near my condo.
