For those of you who don`t know, sweet tofu is a type of dessert that is commonly seen at dim sum restaurants here in the states. It is soft tofu in sugar water. They usually cook it in plain water abmbd serve simple syrup on the side.

The one in the picture had the sweet tofu in the bottom under the sesame paste. And if you don`t know what sesame paste is, its basically a thick soup made with sugar and ground sesame. I personally didn`t like the combination because the sesame paste made the tofu very unattractive to eat. Also, the dessert overall wasn`t as sweet as I hoped. I had to ask for sugar on the side.

In case you were wondering, I went to Dessert Republic in San Mateo. The restaurant decor was super cute. You`re inside, but the decor is like you`re outside. I think its to replicate the streets as it would be in Hong Kong.

Have you guys ever had sweet tofu or sesame paste? If you have, how do you like it?
