Dessert: Mochi in Ginger Syrup

For dessert at the potluck I went to recently, we had mochi! These were the size of tennis balls and were filled with mung bean paste. I loved the ginger syrup they were in too. Whenever I see this dessert I get really excited but I can`t have more than two or three bites. I think it may be because the mochi is pretty thick, plus the bean filling makes it very dense. I saw a verison of this with small mochi balls without the filling inside I like that much better!
