This here is a bismark which takes two different components and molds them into one yummy dessert. Bismarks are something Ive had on and off thru childhood because my local Italian pastry shop ALWAYS sold these and they happen to my aunts favorite dessert. Now what is a bismark? Well, its a staple plain donut base which is formed into a crueler/log shape, cut in half, smeared with jam (usually raspberry, sometimes strawberry) and then filled with whipped cream. My local Italian pastry shop sprinkles the top with powder sugar as they dont put cream on top of the donut although these here are from my local grocery stores bakery where they topped it with powder sugar, additional cream and drops of the jam. They are really good. Even with them being in the fridge due to the cream, it works. Usually donuts arent good after being put in the fridge, but the cream and jam help keep them softer and dont allow them to turn into a brick.
Have you ever had a bismark?
