I just got home from a family BBQ party at Del Mar City Beach in San Diego. I have never been to this area of the beach before but it`s called Del Mar City Beach. The weather today for the beach wasn`t the greatest, it was gloomy, super windy and cold out! I`m not sure how some ladies were wearing just their bikinis but I was freezing in my dress, shorts, and two cardigans.
But anyway, the beach was very clean, beautiful-- very spacious for both grass/sand area however the huge disadvantage of this beach would have to be PARKING! Parking is VERY LIMITED and the parking isn`t even reasonable. The weekend is usually free at parking meters but here parking is enforced 7 DAYS A WEEK! AND if you do find some parking, some spots are only 5 minutes, 20 minutes or 2 hours... and if you`re lazy or having trouble finding parking at the meters it`s $3 an hour or if you park in the beach parking lot it`s $5 an hour. That`s pretty insane-- this beach eats a lot of money. One of my aunts didn`t know the beach was enforced 7 days a week and she got a fine of $43. =(
Anyway, if you`re someone whose impatient then this isn`t the beach for you to go to. It is cleaner than La Jolla, but this isn`t a beach I would return to due to limited parking. I wish this beach had better parking or else I`d go to it more often cause it`s like only a 15 minute drive for me.
