the weather`s been absolutely stellar the past few days, so when i did my nails yesterday i thought i`d start spring a little early! i chose to paint my nails with essie`s mint candy apple, which is a very popular shade.
compared to other mint colors i own, i think this is a lot lighter and more green. i currently don`t have any other mint colors with me though (they`re at home!), so i can`t say for certain.
i ordered my bottle online from amazon and it is not in the new packaging. it`s in the old packaging where essie is not written in white lacquer and there isn`t a sticker on the top indicating the shade. i feel like that may be why i didn`t like the formula of this polish! i felt like it was a little hard to apply and quite streaky, actually. and this is one of those colors where little imprints and a little nick here and there will drive you crazy! i think it only looks good when it`s flawless applied and a super shiny top coat is used.
overall, i like the color. i think i`m going to try and use some nail polish thinner to get it to a consistency i like more. i love mint colors for spring BUT i find that you have to be really careful in applying them to get them to look really good!
FYI: the darker spots on my middle finger are from my seche vite... my bottle is getting a little old and goopy now and it`ll pick up on polishes i`ve used in the past and stick to the brush. when i used it on top of this polish, it came off and ended up on the nail -_- i couldn`t be bothered to redo!
