Growing up I Hated my hair. In fact I can remember probably 5th grade all the way through high school begging my mother to allow me to relax or perm my hair straight. I longed for the long, stick straight tresses of my peers and loathed my mother for not letting me have them(such a bratty teen right?). She never relented no matter how hard I tried and I truly thank her for never letting me go through with it and putting all those awful chemicals in my hair. Part of the reason I hated my hair however, is I never knew how to manage it. It was always either super dry and frizzy, or I used an absorbent amount of hair gel, mousse, and spritz to tame the frizz that left me with crunchy, hard, "wet looking" but dried hair. It wasn`t until I got into college that I started to embrace my natural curl after my roommates and friends all fawned over my hair *blushes*. (Read more on my blog linked below with more pics!)
