In addition to being a stay at home mother I am a experimental chef in my kitchen. Latest creation is deer stew. This process took two days.
Start with a good size piece of uncut deer meat. Add to crock pot with one small onion, one garlic, Worcestershire sauce, meat tenderizer. A dash of cayenne, chili powder, ground mustard, Italian blend seasoning, cinnamon. Along with this add one jalapeno pepper whole, and one bay leaf. Let simmer on low at least 12 -16 hours in crock pot. Once meat is falling apart tender pull meat from juices. Along with whole jalapeno and bay leaf.
To juices add 3 cubed potatoes, 4 sliced carrots, and cut up meat back to crock pot. Let cook on high for 3 hours or until vegetables are tender. Once done add a mixture of one cup water to 3 tablespoons cornstarch to mixture, stirring constantly until cornstarch mixture is completely mixed. Let simmer on low for another hour or so then serve. This is a hardy thick deer stew that goes great with a loaf of homemade cheese bread. This hardy stew is also great for stocking up in the freezer. Sorry no picture of final product, but was excellent.
