I`ve been using the Cristophe Professional Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner all month and I`m ready to share my thoughts on these two products. The Cristophe line is exclusively available at CVS stores and Cristophe salons. The Cristophe products are "salon developed and approved, not tested on animals, color safe, paraben free, cruelty free, not animal tested". The Hydrating products are designed to "replenish moisture to dry, damaged hair" and include:
UV protectors that protect against sun damage and color fading
Creatine to provide strength and improve elasticity
Vitamin C for shine and vibrancy
Deep moisturizing ingredients penetrate and fortify for shiny, healthy hair
MY HAIR TYPE: I have naturally straight hair that refuses to accept heat styling, so I rarely style or even blow dry it. It can last about 2 days after washing, but once it starts to loose the freshly washed feel it starts to feel dry. My scalp doesn`t produce the amount of oils the average head does, so my scalp is always feeling dry and itchy by day 2.5/3.
VERDICT: I really like this shampoo/conditioner combo, it smells salon-delicious and the freshly washed feel is soft, shiny and flowing in flexibility. I love that these don`t weigh down my hair, in the past I have steered away from "hydrating" shampoos and conditioners because they seemed to never wash out and just gunk up my hair. The Cristophe Hydrating Shampoo ($12) is a purple gel, easy to lather, easy to rinse out and if I am in a rush, it`s hydrating enough to skip the conditioner sometimes. The Cristophe Hydrating Conditioner ($13) is a purple cream, easy to smooth into the hair, gentle enough to use on my extra dry scalp without it weighing down or causing build up, it can be left on for extended time to get a deeper condition, and it rinses out really well leaving my hair feeling clean.
Overall, I`m in love and that says a lot since I`ve been battling my dry hair for the past year!
