Cristiano Ronaldo has no doubts which country he`d like to avoid during the upcoming Euro 2012 in Poland and the Ukraine. The Portuguese skipper stated that he views Vicente Del Bosque`s side as the leading contenders to defend their European crown, although he also warned of the threat posed by other teams.
"I don`t think there will be many surprises in this European Championship because Spain is very strong and there are several difficult-to-beat teams behind them", the Portuguese star said. Portugal has been placed in what is, in theory, the toughest group in the tournament, and will kick off its campaign against Germany at the Arena Lviv on Saturday 9th June (8:45 p.m. CET).
Four days later it faces Denmark, before rounding off the group stage against Holland on 17th June at the Metalist Stadium. "We know we are in a really tricky group, the group of death, and our priority is to progress past the group stage", Portugal`s number 7 insisted.
"We are up against Germany, Holland and Denmark, who topped our qualifying group, but I am confident we will get through. We know were not favouritesbut so much the better", he declared.
