So let me start off by saying these are the same sizes, similar colors, but different in price. The Rimmel was like $2.50 and the Covergirl was around $7? I used the Covergirl and repurchased many times it`s been my #1 foundation for four years. While I recently purchased the Rimmel foundation over my winter break.
The Covergirl says it`s "matte." Well maybe for the first 20 minutes. But no it is not. Rimmel claims to be 100% poreless it is not but that wasn`t the selling feature anyways. So they are both build-able. I don`t apply them very heavy but I do add more on certain areas (especially since I don`t use cover up). With my new routine using a primer, bb cream, then foundation (then blush, bronzer, and highlight) I wanted something that stayed on. I have been using Rimmel since I purchased it, sorta pushed my Covergirl aside. But today I decided to test out CG and ... eh. My Rimmel lasted all day and still looked good once I was done with school at 2pm. The covergirl did not last all day and began fading near lunch (11pm) and by the time I got home it was pretty worn off. I would blame my primer(s) but I know it`s not them, because Rimmel lasted and so have my occasionally other foundations I try or switch between.
I am just no longer impressed with my covergirl foundation. I do like the powder form for occasional touch ups.
I highly recommend the Rimmel foundation over the Covergirl.
