Shatter polish has really been on trend recently. It seems everywhere you turn, there are new shatter colours and new companies making shatter polish.
While the technique isnt exactly new (I remember having a black crackle polish for Halloween when I was younger lol) the last few years, it has really surged in popularity.
What IS new is the use of colour for these shatter shades. I recently went to Winners and was able to find a few Colour Club shatter type polishes.
Originally when OPI came out with Black Shatter, it was the only one available. They then moved to Silver Shatter before coming out with different colours.
Now it seems that every other nail polish company has jumped on the trend, which is convenient since OPI polishes tend to be a little expensive sometimes. It its a colour or shade I feel I will use over and over, I dont mind paying a little more for my fav OPI shades, but for the shatters that I will probably only end up using once or twice, it seems like a waste. I purchased Black and Silver when they came out since I feel I can use those over and over but for the other coloured shatters, I havent been able to justify buying them.
So when I saw these Colour club shatters that were only $3.99 each I chose to pick some funky colours that I wouldnt normally buy.
My favourite thing about the shatter polishes is that they can extend your manicure. If you start to notice some chips in your polish, you can layer a shatter over it and wear it for an extra day or two. If the chips are really bad, just do a quick fix before layering the shatter. Even if you do a messy job, you are layering it anyways, so it doesnt really matter :)
I plan on using these 2 for situations like that so maybe I can post some soon :)
