This vest is programed to give you a "hug" every time somebody likes your status/pictures/videos on Facebook. The concept was created by Melissa Chow, who attends MIT.
Her intentions are to have the vest-wearer feel a closer connection to the person who gave them a like. Regardless of the distance between the two people, the vest-wearer will feel the "hug".
In her description, the vest enables us to feel "warmth, encouragement, support, or love" coming from the other person. You can even send hugs back if the other person is wearing a vest.
Overall, I think this is a dumb concept. Why wear such an ugly vest just to feel artificial hugs? I would rather get the real thing..
- Do you think this is a cool concept? Or are artificial hugs weird?
- Would you ever try on the vest?
