I swear the Clinque Chubby Lip Balms were just like the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains, but a higher end version.
I tried this out at Sephora because they came in a beautiful array of colors and they looked very cute.
I decided to try the color I would most love, which is a nice pinkish orange, called Curvy Candy.
This chubby lip balm is supposed to help moisturize your lips while giving it a healthy glow. Whenever I look at lip colors, I always look for ones that already have a built-in moisturizer so I don`t have to carry and use two products.
I did a quick swatch and I noticed that the color was not as advertised. It was supposed to give a nice sheer pink color that had some gloss on it. However, it was more matte, as you can tell from the photo. I don`t really like matte lip balms because it looks a bit fake on the lips.
I also noticed that it wasn`t doing so well in terms of being moisturizing. The patch of skin on my hand had a small reaction to it and it left me with a dry red patch where I put the lip balm. This would be terrible for me as I already have ezcema on my lips and this would further irritate it ><
I love the colors of the Chubby Lip Balms though, they`re very beautiful and they have a wide range. But for $19, I think I`ll stick with my Maybelline BabyLips as it delivers the same amount of sheer color or for those who want more colors, the Revlon Just Bitten series might do the same trick.
Though Clinque is advertised as having really good skin care and some are targeted for people with sensitive skin, I was thoroughly disappointed at their claim.
Hope that helps.
