I have to clean my brushes like once a week or once every two weeks. If I do not then my face tends to break out more and worst than usual break outs around menstruation and stress etc. The best and inexpensive way I have found to clean my brushes is with baby soap. Burt`s bees has a good baby soap but any will do. When they dry they are soft and just like brand new. Be sure not to use soo much soap, wash in warm-cool water and rinse thoroughly. There are also like these brush guards I had got a few in a beautybox from http://beautybox.com... they keep ur brushes clean when you are not using them free from dust etc.
