Most people these days seem to be under the impression that you need to spend thousands of dollars on expensive clothes to look classy, sophisticated, and overall just jaw-droppingly gorgeous - which I have to admit is complete and utter bullshit to be frank.

All you need to have, is a few hundred dollars, and some serious know-how on what fits your body well, what colours look good on you, and where to shop for your new pieces.

Black and White - are the two most basic staples you need in your wardrobe, and may I just put it out there that having a white shirt with pocket detailing, a pair of skinny black jeans, and a gold or silver chain necklace - which is very on trend at the moment - and either a pair of hi-top wedges, combat boots or ballet flats you can easily create a look which can take you from day to night and that is incredibly effortless but really does make you stand out and look absolutely fabulous at the same time.

When choosing a colour palette for your wardrobe go straight to basics when first stocking up - this means getting your blacks, whites, denim and beige coloured clothing to use as `base` pieces - this should make up at least 70% of your wardrobe and be good quality. The rest? Trend pieces, to dress up or dress down the garments you have already purchased that are tucked away neatly in your drawers and hung up on your clothing rack. The trends lately are camouflage, studs, gold/silver chunky jewellery, and fitted florals.
