Several days ago my husband asked for some fudge brownies. He had recently picked up a box and brought it home. As much as I like boxed brownies (hey, I won`t complain.... boxed or homemade.... delicious chocolate won`t be discriminated here) I felt they needed a bit of something.
I decided to whip up some cream cheese "filling" to swirl into it. I know you can buy the kits that have this part included, but the box we bought didn`t. We really enjoy the flavor that is added by the swirl.
I followed the box directions for the brownies but for the cream cheese part, I looked up a couple recipes online. It was very simple. I just had to combine sugar, cream cheese, an egg, and vanilla extract together. That was then dropped randomly across the brownie batter and a knife ran through it to create the marbling. Then, it baked just as the box suggested.
Delicious!!!!! These are dangerous to have in the house, though, cause we can devour them faster than is probably wise.
