Hey everyone! So if you didn`t know a few days ago (Monday 1/23) tp be exact was Chinese New Years or what I like to call it Vietnamese New Years (a.k.a Tet)!! Every year on New Years, my family always cooks a bunch of food. These past few years have been a little bit different because my mom has been a vegan for a couple of years now. So now, every New Years, my mom only cooks vegan food! We didn`t cook much this year because we weren`t expecteing a lot of family members. Usually we would have this coffee table and out dining room table covered with food but this year, it was only our coffee table.
Its all Vietnamese food!! Yum! We cooked egg rolls, which was one of my favorite dishes even though these were vegetarian. They weren`t your typical veggie egg roll, instead of lettuce and cabbage (or whatever is in those not so good egg rolls served at majority Chinese food places), my mom used tofu, mushrooms, carrots, and a bunch of other soy products. It was so good! I don`t know the names of these dishes but the ones that I do know, I don`t know how to spell in Vietnamese. LOL Another dish that was pretty good was the tofu chicken, which you can see in some of the pictures. It was shaped like an actual chicken. Haha! I took a bunch of pictures so you can see what we usually have on Tet!
I hope you all like the pictures! Hopefully they are all making you hungry like they are doing to me while I am typing up this post. LOL If you have any questions, you can comment below or message me and I will try my best to answer all of them! <strong><em>Do you celebrate Tet?
