Be sure to visit your local Chinatown this weekend and next! Chinese New Year is on February 10th. But there will be things going on t his weekend and next.

Since I live in New York City I`ll talk about what you can do in NYC. (The pic above by the way is of Philly)

Today there`s Lunar New Year Gallery Tours 11:30, 2:30 and 3:30 to learn more about the Lunar New Year.

There are also other tours.

For Lion Dance performances and workshops, they run from 12pm - 1pm at Museum of Chinese in America. They actually have events throughout the whole day. As well they`ll be running the walking tours.

Asia Society uptown in Manhattan has their events on 9/9. Including lion dances and kung fun demonstrations among other things!

If you`re out in Queens, Flushing. There are a ton of FREE events by the NY Chinese Cultural Center.

Love firecrackers and lion dances? Held over to Roosevelt Park on 2/10 where they have a big festival including exploding over 600,000 firecrackers. Bring ear plugs!
