So I was at 99 Ranch the other day (asian market) and I spotted these giant custard pies at the bakery. Truthfully I wasn`t going to buy it, but since it was only 5 bucks I figured why not. I have been longing for the egg custard of traditional dim sum restaurants WITH CARTS, but have sadly not found any where I currently live. I would have to say it was a disappointment, which is what I figured. But again, at 5 bucks, "eh who cares." The crust was too thin and too stiff, and the egg custard itself had more of a jello consistency. It wasn`t bad, but it wasn`t great either. It was one small slice worthy. Of course my hubby liked it though and he ate the whole pie himself. LOL.
Anywho Have you guys ever tried real Chinese custard ?
