I`m always on the hunt for a great lip product, so I was very excited to try this Chapstick LipShield 360 with SPF 50 that came in my Spring Beauty Voxbox from Influenster. It was one of the first products I ripped open, lol! :)
Having a lip product with SPF 50 is fantastic, and it`s just in time for me to use for the summer! The chapstick itself is a solid cream color but goes on completely clear (like regular chapstick). It does have a sort of sunscreen smell to it, but it`s actually pleasant. The downside, though, is that it tastes like your eating sunscreen once you put it on your lips.
At first, I thought this chapstick was doing a pretty good job moisturizing my lips. But then I began realizing that my lips would feel even drier later than they were to begin with. It got so bad that I could peel the dry, dead skin of my lips! EWWW! No, thank you! Another thing I noticed was that I would get white buildup near the corners of my lips after applying and wearing the chapstick for a little while. Again, no thank you.
So overall, this chapstick is not something I will be repurchasing or even really likely to recommend. The only reason I`m keeping it around is to use when I go on vacation because of the SPF in it. I`m definitely not a fan of how it makes my lips even drier after it wears off (I always end up using a different lip product afterwards) and I`m also not a fan of the white buildup it leaves on my lips, even though it applies clear originally. Sorry, Chapstick, but I think I`ll stick to your original formula. This one just doesn`t do it for me!
