I was out in the city (San Francisco) the other day with my sister and my cousins just going around to different areas of the city and while we were in Hayes Valley we stopped by Chantal Guillon for some macarons!!! Besides Bouchon Bakery Chantal Guillon is my other all time favorite place to go for french macarons! It just sucks that Chantal Guillon is all the way in Hayes Valley in the city and Im rarely in the city because I hate driving in the city! We each got a box of six and this is the box that I bought and it was $10.50. The flavors I got from left to right were espresso, almond, pistachio, 2 vanilla, and red velvet. Pistacho and vanilla are always a given whenever I get macarons anywhere and they were both delicious! Espresso Ive had before and its good too but the almond and red velvet ones were my first time trying since they have different macaron flavors every time Im there but almond and red velvet were really good. Almond had to by be my favorite one out of all of them and surprisingly I liked red velvet. I didnt think that red velvet would be that great but it actually was. These macarons arent as sweet as Bouchons which is good in my opinion but I also like how these macarons have more of a chewy texture to them. If you are ever out in San Francisco and want some macarons you must come to this place! And while youre here if you go up one more block there is a place called La Boulange and they sell macarons too but not as good as Chantal Guillon ;)
