Next on my tour of must visit beach of North Carolina is Long Beach`s next door neighbor, Caswell Beach. Located in Brunswick Country, Caswell Beach has been called one of North Carolina`s most beautiful beaches. It`s home to the taller of the two light houses on Oak Island. This lighthouse actually has the second strongest light beacon in the world. Second only to a French lighthouse that guards the English Channel. The lighthouse is also a part of a Coast Guard station located on Caswell Beach. However the town of Caswell Beach own the lighthouse. And as you can see from the first picture Caswell Beach has several miles of beautiful white sandy beaches. All of which are open year round except for the beach area closest to the Coast Guard station. Along side the Coast Guard station is the North Carolina Baptist Assembly which was formally Fort Caswell. The North Carolina Baptist Assembly is used as a resort, retreat, and conference center for the North Carolina Baptist Association. As you might expect with a large Baptist own piece of property the community in the area are very christian minded people. So the area is very family friendly and is a popular place for Youth Groups from many Churches in the state. Besides the lighthouse, Coast Guard station, and the North Carolina Baptist Assembly, there is also another 18 hole golf course designed by George Cobb himself. So if you`re looking for a beautiful beach with a very christian oriented values and community and/or a nice round of golf, then Caswell Beach is the best place on the North Carolina Coast to go.
