On Saturday my family came to visit. With them they brought a couple gifts. They were to be belated birthday gifts. I`ve been saying how badly I wanted some cast iron cookware.
Well, the first thing they handed me was a little, tiny bag. Inside was this adorable little candle. It is by Paula Dean. It is stinkin` cute. It is a tiny cast iron skillet with the two wick candle inside. It is melted down to look like a cake and then has little wax crumbles over the top. It is cinnamon something cake. That is the scent of it. My dad said "We couldn`t find a good REAL cast iron skillet for you, so we thought this would do for the time being." I told them I wasn`t expecting a gift at all so I loved this. I`m a sucker for candles and cutsie stuff. It is quite small. I included a picture of my hand behind it to give you an idea of its size. I placed it on my stove top. I think it is an adorable kitchen decoration to keep on the stove (when it isn`t on of course) since it is supposed to look like food cooking.
They also brought a big trunk that I had been wanting. Inside the trunk was another bag with a real cast iron skillet inside (not photographed). They tried to trick me with the small candle when they really did have a skillet for me. LOL!
I do really like the candle. It has heavy weight because the holder is actual cast iron. The scent is very nice. It does smell like cakes baking. I kind of don`t want to burn it because I think it is so cute. I know I can put a new candle inside when it is gone but... I don`t know. We`ll see.
I am curious know to track down more. I`d like to see if there are more cute designed Paula Dean candles.
