Next on my tour of must visit beaches of North Carolina is Carolina Beach State Park. On the opposite side of the spectrum from Wrightsville beach, Carolina Beach State Park is a federally protected Park that spans a little over 750 acres of forest and beach located in New Hanover County. So you`ll find no resort hotels here. This beach is more for nature lovers or families or individuals looking to have a camping trip than a resort beach vacation. Carolina Beach State Park has several hiking and biking trails, along with several camping areas and picnic areas. The Park does allow for swimming so you can have your camp out on the beach and go for a dip as well. Along the trails you`ll be able to find some rare wild and planet life unique to the coast of North Carolina such and a famous Venus Fly Trap, the pitcher plant, and the rare east coast cactus. There are a couple of Marinas in the park where you can put your boat in the water and to fish. The fishing is said to be great in the area so you fishermen will have a good time. There`s also a visitor`s center with exhibits that show off the wonders of the surrounding environment both on land and in the water. The Park itself is open year round so you can come camp out at anytime of the year! So if your family, or just you, are looking for a nice beach to visit and camp out at then Carolina Beach State Park is the absolute perfect place to come.
