No matter how much sleep I get, I always have dark circles under my eyes. For the longest time now, Benefit Boi-ing has been my concealer of choice, but after reading a review on the Candy Doll concealer, I decided to give it a try. I will be reviewing the concealer in shade 01.
Candy Doll is Japanese gyaru model Tsubasa Masuwaka`s own line of makeup. Mainly sold in Japan, it`s hard to get a hold of if you live internationally. However, it can be easily found on Ebay, Sasa, and a few other online retailers for approximately $12-20 (Sasa is the cheapest I`ve seen it).
The concealer is available in 2 different shades. There is no indication of how much product is inside, but it is considerably small compared to most liquid concealers I`ve bought in the past. I would estimate it to be between 3-4 grams of product. The concealer comes with a doe foot applicator.
Lasting Power & Wear:
The concealer is creamy in texture but it does dry pretty quickly and can become hard to blend if left alone for too long. I would recommend moisturizing with an eye cream first and then dab a few drops onto the undereye area, patting and blending in quickly.
The concealer has very good wear and I don`t find myself needing to touch up midday. Although it is long lasting, it can be easily removed with the use of an eye makeup remover or face cleanser.
Color & Swatches:
Shade 01 can be described as a light beige color with a bit of a yellow undertone. The concealer is extremely pigmented and the yellow really helps to counter redness underneath the eyes.
Compared to Boi-ing, I find that the Candy Doll concealer does a much better job of covering up my dark circles, as well as the numerous sunspots under my eye area. Plus, because it is so pigmented, a little goes a long way, so you should be able to get a lot of uses out of this little bottle.
