Over the past weekend, my friend and I went to Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro which is about 40ish mins away from West LA. I love going to aquariums because of all the neat displays and all the cool animals I get to learn about. This was my first time going to this particular aquarium. It`s relatively small compared to the other aquariums I`ve been to (Aquarium of the Pacific in LB, Monterey Bay Aquarium, etc.). Well it`s small compared to others because it`s FREE admission, it`s put on entirely off donations. Most, if not all the exhibits are designed to educate about sharks, moon jellies, octopus, planktons, huge sea cucumbers and lobsters, seahorses, etc. They also have a touch pool in the back, where you can touch sea stars, sea urchins, sea anemones, and little sharks. My favorite exhibit was the shark tank. It had all these different kinds of small sharks that I thought was extremely cool. Outside of the aquarium there`s also a lovely, low tide beach.
Overall, I thought this place was extremely cool and fun. A nice place to explore for those on a budget (cause it`s free :) ) and with a beach right outdoors you have a nice day out.
Have you been to this aquarium? What is your favorite aquarium?
