Butter London Big Smoke

I recently swapped my bottle of Deborah Lippmann Naked for a bottle of Butter London Big Smoke. I was never a fan of Naked or nude nail polishes in general to be honest but alas it was the only way I was able to get Across the Universe on a trip to Michigan in the fall. It came in a set with Across the Universe, and Dont Tell Mama, which I ended up loving. Well my husbands cousin purchased Big Smoke and felt it was just too dark for her liking so we decided to swap.

I happen to have a wish list of nail polishes that I would like to add to my collection and to be honest Big Smoke was not on the list. However when I looked at swatches of it I really thought it looked promising as I love blue and I am not afraid of darker colors. In fact I quite prefer darker colors. So the other day when Big Smoke arrived in the mail I immediately got to work prepping my nails with Essie Sensitivity Base Coat and then applying two coats of Big Smoke. I for one tend to apply thinner coats and I have some rather pesky ridges on my thumb nails that give me some trouble so I decided to do a third coat as well since my ridges were causing some balding. As you may or may not know, Big Smoke is a steely navy blue metallic polish and I always have issues with metallics where my ridges are concerned. After applying the third coat I was quite happy with the pigmentation and coverage. I finished things off with a my Seche Vite Fast Dry Coat and I could not believe how amazing this color is, especially in the sunlight. To say Big Smoke is gorgeous might just be an understatement. In fact it is now among my favorite colors. My husband even commented on the fact that it would make a nice paint color for a car. lol Well Ive been wearing Big Smoke for two days now and I find it wears nicely, as did my other Butter London polish. I am so glad that I did this swap because I love Big Smoke and my husbands cousin said that she was equally as happy with the DL Naked I sent her.

Do you own this color or any other Butter products? If so what are your opinions?
