I recently finished my first half marathon, it was the Avengers Half Marathon held at Disneyland in California. I bought these two cute bumper magnets that represent the event. They cost around $7 and I bought one of each of the designs they sold (2), mostly because i`m indecisive but partially because I was really excited for the event!
I`m sure we`ve all seen those bumper stickers or magnets that are the little oval that say 13.1 or 26.2 or a combination of other things.
I recently read an article posted on one of the big unimportant news sites stating how obnoxious these bumper stickers are. The article went out to outline how the people who put these emblems on their car are bragging or boasting about themselves and how no one really cares.
To be honest those thoughts had never occurred to me. I have always looked at those stickers longing to earn my own. It was never my intent to cause disdain or self-consciousness in other people.
I think looking so far into a simple sticker is a bit obnoxious in itself.
What do you think about these little representations of accomplishment? Obnoxious or Interesting?
