The Buen Retiro Park in Madrid was originally founded in 1632. Covering a whopping 350 acres of land, this is where the Spanish royal family used to spend their leisure time. My friends and I wandered into this beautiful urban park, and there is a little pond where pedal boats can be rented. The most visually attractive aspect about Buen Retiro, I thought, was the Crystal Palace. It houses several pieces of artwork inside, though I must say, the term "art" is very subjective...
But the park is just absolutely captivating, and worth spending an entire afternoon there. Soak up the rays, people watch, and just take in the atmosphere.
