(photo is mine - please don`t steal!)
first a little disclaimer: i know that at least mac brushes are all handmade and so everybody`s brush is a little different and they`re not all exactly alike...so i can only compare to mine..
i am comparing the mac 217 with real techniques base shadow brush...
design: even though i prefer the classic black handle of the mac brushes, the super sleek, shorter, thinner and lighter real techniques handle with rubber grip on the bottom is pretty also and just a bit more "compact"...the white bristles of the mac brush look dirty very fast whereas the real techniques brush stays looking a bit cleaner.. so i think the design point goes to real techniques
price point: i got the mac brush for about 20 and the real techniques was part of a set of four brushes total which was about 30...so it is cheaper but you always have to get the whole set even though you might just want to get this one brush..because i think one needs more than just one blending brush..also mac is more widely available/accessible as of now..but of course real techniques is still working on that..so this point goes to mac in my opinion..
actual brush: when i compare the brushes they both are equally soft...but my mac brush is a bit more compact and dense than the real techniques one..but maybe that is just because i might have gotten a really good mac one and a suckier real techniques one..but since they both work amazingly well and i love both equally when it comes to their performance they both get a point for this category..
conclusion: both are equally amazing and worth every penny!
what do you guys think? have you tried both? which one do you prefer?
