Brunch Treat: Butter Croissant

I recently won a gift shop to a bakery cafe, so I decided to stop by this afternoon to get a coffee and something to eat. I hadn`t had breakfast (bad, I know!) and just wanted something simple for brunch. I picked out this plain croissant, and I`m glad I did!

As you can probably tell from the photo, this croissant was well-baked. If there`s one thing I hate about croissants, it`s when they`re undercooked. They have a sad, pale look to them when that happens, lol. This one, however, was a nice golden-brown! It was crispy on the outside, and flaky and soft on the inside. Oh, and it was fresh, too! That`s also really important, because when a croissant is not fresh, it gets kinda soggy and doughy. Not this one, though! It was buttery and light - simply delicious!

I`ve got a bit left on my gift card, so I will be revisiting this cafe again. I might even try one of their sandwiches or cupcakes next time! =)
