This is a regional dessert from my area that i actually haven`t had in years. Its called "Brisas do Lis" and its made with mostly egg yolks and with a thin almond crust.
You kind tell that its a cake that uses a lot of eggs, i mean, it looks like an actual egg yolk and they are not always this orange, usually they are more yellow but i guess they used more eggs in this one.
I got this from the same bakery as the egg tarts i posted recently ( http://www.luuux.com/food/pastel-de-nataegg-tart-traditional-portuguese-dessert ) but i have to say i enjoyed the egg tarts much more then this because this had a strong egg flavor that was just to much for me. It doesnt mean it was bad, it just not one of my favorites.
Have you had this before or anything similar?
Do you like cakes with strong egg flavor?
